Summary:

In 1963, teen-aged, young con-artist, Frank Abagnale, Jr. (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) who lives in New York with his father, Frank Abagnale Sr. (played by Christopher Walken), and mother Paula (played by Nathalie Baye).

Due to financial difficulties within the family and their business, it led to Franks’ parents to divorce. Frank runs away, and in order to survive, he begun to scams to get by.

As famously impersonating an airline pilot, forged Pan Am payroll checks, and succeeded in stealing over 2.5 million. He also tried to be a doctor and legal prosecutor.

An FBI agent, Carl Hanratty (played by Tom Hanks), hunts down Frank across 26 countries. He caught Frank in Montrichard, France, where his mother Paula was born.

Frank was sentenced for 12 years in prison. Because of his wits in fraud checks, Carl convinced FBI to offer Frank a deal which he have to work with them with the remainder of his sentence.

The ending credits reveal that Frank has been happily married for 26 years, has three sons, lives in the Midwest, is still good friends with Carl, has caught some of the world’s most elusive money forgers, and earns millions of dollars each year because of his work creating unforgeable checks.

My opinion:

Being an adult has nothing to do with money and fame, all I have to say is we need to be aware of our family and our environment.

My opinion: The movie is great even though some part of the story is exaggerated, Leonardo has portrayed the role and same goes with Tom Hanks, if only they also included more storylines of Frank’s character as a teenager, why he did what he did, I guess it would be better.

And in the movie’s finale, the father-son theme culminates in Frank having to choose between the values of his real father and the surrogate dad who reined him in.
