Writing 101: Day One – I Write Because…
Today’s Writing 101, here,
Why do you write? This is a question you can answer again and again, as your response might evolve over time. You may have already addressed it in a previous blog post. Some bloggers also use this question, and variations of it, to shape their bios and About pages. Why am I here? Who am I? Why do I blog?
Today, tell us: why do you write? If you’d like to see how others have approached this, here are 23 inspiring quotes from famous authors. The I Write Because project is also worth a peek and is full of personal, honest submissions.
Set a timer and free-write for 15 or 30 minutes without stopping. Begin your post with “I write because . . . ” or start it any other way you wish.
I write/blog because…
I want to be a writer.
I want to have that adventure that a writer has just between his/her keyboard/typewriter or pen and his/her thoughts.
I write because I want to find something out, and in order to learn something that I didn’t know before I write.
I want to learn the proper grammar, the right words to choose, and I want to learn again how to construct a story just by those marching words.
I write to expose my thoughts; happy, inspiring and just be grateful on what we have. To get our thoughts out on a blog for others to see and reading what others have written.
I write because my imagination needs to set free.
And I write because curiosity is my driving force to learn about myself and discover what can I write.
All good reasons for being motivated to write 🙂 love the quote you used in your post too 🙂 thanks again for visiting my blog and for leaving link at my link-up request – really don’t know how I missed spotting you in w101 before now! Your menu page is great too, you’re very well organised 🙂 I’ll catch up with your other w101posts now. Cheers 🙂

I’ve lived a reasonably long time and had some interesting experiences. I would like to pass something on to those who are interested, but realize what I have to share isn’t for everyone.

I think writing is a journey for all of us and writers always want be better. I haven’t yet met someone who loves to write that doesn’t think there is more to learn or better ways to express oneself. Great post

Thought inspiring…..made me think a little more about why I write. Thank you. I look forward to following future posts. Taking a sneak peek at future blogging 101 assignments was tempting, but I will resist, for now!

Wonderful. I really liked that part where you have mentioned that you write to experience an adventure. I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes when I type, I feel as if my mind is using my fingers to type whatever it wants. I don’t stop but continue writing and after the sentence finishes, I juts stare in awe that i could like something like this, because I never knew I could think like that.
Good luck with your chemistry.
Best
