Writing 101: Day Two – Write A List

Today’s Writing 101, here,

“Today, let’s write a list. Compiling a list is a way to let loose, unlock ideas, and free your mind. At Things We Like, writer Jessica Gross compiles lists of things that other people like. In fact, Jessica’s site inspired me to draft my own extended list of things I like.

This summer, author Amanda Mininger published a great list in “The Fourth Decade,” reflecting on approaching age 40. She compiled lists within a list, including what she’s gained and what she’s lost. In another list, Patti Murin compiled things learned from watching TV.

Today, write your own list on one of these topics:

  • Things I Like
  • Things I’ve Learned
  • Things I Wish

There are no rules, though it might help to decide in advance how many items you’d like to include, or set a timer, so you have boundaries within which to work. For example, a list of 10 or 25 or 50 (or more!) items, or intervals of 15, 30, or 60 minutes are appropriate.”

My write list, hmmmm, it’s hard to come up with 1001 things I dream of doing just for one sitting. Oh well, this is life we just have to enjoy it. You can check out my previous post of my previous ten happy thoughts.

So consider this as my current list which makes it inspiring to live at the moment for me and I hope for everyone as well. This list contained things – big and small – that I am presently pushing myself on doing. We’ll see, I still have lots to do!

Things I Want To Do

a. Learn to Blog better g. Go Snokeling
b. Learn how to Swim h. To get my Driver’s License
c. Learn how to Surf i. Go Horse Riding
d. Learn a new Language j. Learn Calligraphy
e. Learn to Play Piano k. Living a Healthy and Fashionable life
f. Backpack Tour in Europe l. Try New Things…to be continued

Having a bucket list is a thinking in hindsight, and it is good to have a milestone in life. It may or may not happen, or I might change some of the few things in the list, I will just chill and live the moment.

And if I reflect such list seriously to plan my goals, I guess I would be good to go.

What’s on your list?
