Summary: Based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic novel Tarzan of the Apes, this beautifully animated film is one of Disney’s more faithful adaptations.

In 1880s, an English couple with their baby son escape from a burning ship, they ended up on the land near with uncharted rainforest off the coast of Africa, unfortunately the couple were killed by a leopardess, Sabor. Sabor hunted and eaten as well the child of a gorilla couple, Karchak and Kala.

Kala hears the cries of the human infant and finds him alone in the treehouse, unknowingly, Sabor was there too. The leopardess attached Kala and the baby but manage to escape. Kala takes the baby to Karchak, though with his disapproval to raise him in their gorilla troop. Kala raises the human child and named him Tarzan.

The land were interrupted by the arrival of the explorers from England, Professor Porter, his daughter, Jane, and their hunter-guide, Clayton. Jane meet Tarzan when she was separated from the group and chased by a pack of baboons. Tarzan saves her and out of curiosity Tarzan continues to return to their camp and be taught by Porter, Clayton, and Jane to speak and learn English of the human world.

Fast-forward, Clayton in this story is the villain, so he tries to deceive Tarzan by asking the whereabouts of the Gorilla Village, Karchak on the other hand have warned Tarzan not to trust the humans. Clayton bring his team to ambush the village, Karchak was hit by Clayton’s gun and his dying breath named Tarzan as leader of the Gorilla Troop. The Porters reunite with Tarzan and his family and embark on their new life together.

My opinion: My husband’s favorite movie of all time, its humorous, Phil Collins music in the background makes it so exciting to watch over and over again, and overall definitely a highlight for the more Disney films released and worth checking out!
